The Little Wedding That Could

Let me be very frank when I say,

I didn’t think this wedding was going to happen.

There was never a point when I could relax and say, “wow, I’m getting married!”.

Andrew and I had been planning this wedding since October 2019. The moments in-between were filled with a pandemic, a wildfire, lost invitations, changes in bridal parties, and massive reconfigurations. There were many tears and stages of stress I would never want to experience again.

However, despite it all…

it happened.

Simply put, it was the most incredible day of my life.

I got to marry my soulmate at 8,296 feet in Estes Park Colorado next to my closest friends and family.

A few fun facts:

  • We had custom masks

  • None of us were ready for the amount of snow we faced (We’re Texans)

  • My feet were numb walking down the aisle + my sis in law gave me her socks afterwards (bless you, Dez)

  • My girl Jacky took on the stressful job of being our DJ and did amazing

  • We had to get an officiant last minute + Jane was a lifesaver and such a blessing!

  • My mom got ordained online because I wasn’t sure I would be able to get a Colorado Wedding License because my ID was expired, thankfully- I did

  • None of this would have happened without my bridesmaids… period

  • Had a breakdown a day before the wedding + the morning of (it’s funny now)

  • Our reception got cancelled a week before the wedding so we rented 3 spaced out cabins for our crew

  • Sugar Pine Catering brought our meals to the cabins for us + made me a vegan meal (bless)

  • All of our vendors were incredibly flexible and kind

  • Guests took tests before they came

  • No one got COVID
